Women’s Community Revitalization Project

A community organization with an affordable housing focus, the Women’s Community Revitalization Project (WCRP), needed early-stage funds to kickstart three affordable housing projects in Philadelphia. Partners for the Common Good and the Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH) worked together to provide $500,000 in predevelopment financing to get the projects off the ground.

The three properties will create 113 total units of affordable housing, including 23 units for physically disabled individuals and 11 units for homeless veterans with special needs. All of the units will be affordable for low-income and extremely low-income residents. Additionally, WCRP’s case managers will work with a local nonprofit to provide mental health counseling, adult day care, education, and primary health care services as appropriate to its veteran population. The three project are located in census tracts with poverty rates as high as 57% and unemployment rates as high as 27%.

PCG and CSH are collaborating for the first time to further the projects of one of the strongest supportive housing providers in Philadelphia.
