Marilín M. Llanes, OP is a member of the Adrian Dominican Sisters. She joined the Congregations Office of Portfolio Advisory Board (PAB) staff in 2022 and currently serves as Director for the Shareholder Advocacy and Community Impact Investing Fund. A native of Cuba, Marilín immigrated as a young child with her family settling in Miami, Florida. She identifies herself as Cuban American with diverse border influences from her varied lived experiences. While living in San Antonio, Texas, Marilín worked at St. Mary’s University and obtained a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling and continued graduate studies earning degree in School Psychology from Trinity University. She practiced as a bilingual licensed school psychologist in San Antonio, Texas, Joliet, Illinois, and Detroit, Michigan from 2002 to 2022 with particular focus in working with under-resourced and underserved communities. She is a graduate of University of New Hampshire School of Public Policy obtained a Master of Arts in Community Development Policy and Practice and earned a business degree from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. Marilín has a strong commitment to creating opportunities for building financially resilient and sustainable communities that support people on the margins.
Marilín currently serves on the following non-profit boards: Religious Communities Impact Fund (RCIF), Mercy Community Capital, and a trustee of the Adrian Dominican Sisters’ Camilla Madden Charitable Trust.
